In just one day a man named Job lost everything. And I mean EVERYTHING! All of his earthly belongings (some Bible scholars say in today's times, that amount would be over 5 Million dollars) and all of his 10 children ( uh.... PRICELESS!)
Add to that, he had boils that covered his entire body and his wife and friends all but called him a criminal for heaping such rotten circumstances on himself. Their best advice: Curse God and die.
Hmmm... now if that had happened to us, what would our reaction be?
And yet he was was able to say.... "I came into this world naked and poor and I can leave the same way. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed (meaning highly exalted) be the name of the Lord." In the end, God rewarded his faithfulness (questioning but not cursing God) with double everything he had lost.
Moral of the story: It could be worse. And it will get better!
